About This Fundraiser
We, Olivia and Louise are volunteering for TNKR, a charity which teaches North Korean refugees English. The charity is funded by donations and run by volunteers, so in order to grow this great charity they depend solely on donations.
Even if our mothers think that offering our time and expertise to North Korean refugees is enough, we feel like we should offer something else of value. That's where this fundraiser comes in!
We pledge to spend at least 6 hours on a beach near Seoul collecting trash (and disposing of it correctly). Plastic pollution is currently a huge global concern and it is something that we are both conscious about every day. With an estimated 8 million metric tonnes of plastic leaking into the sea each year, we found this to be a more worthy cause (than say, riding our bikes to Busan, which, quite frankly would kills us) for people to donate to, with everyone's (including the fish, seabirds and other marine life) best interests in mind.
*5 quid is about 7,300 Won FYI!*
