About This Fundraiser
I am turning 25 years old this month on Oct 4th and I would like to donate my birthday to a cause that I deeply care about. You can tell what they do by their title already, TNKR(Teach North Korean Refugees English) was one of the turning points of my life outside of darkness. The volunteer teachers showed me a hope for humanity through their love and care for people like myself who had nothing to offer. I cannot name them all, but every one of them showed me that the humanity's hope was never lost when we stand together, help each other and fight for each other.
Please donate any amount you can contribute to this amazing organization that helps my fellow North Korean defectors to find their voice in freedom and continue to speak up against evil Kim regime. We need more survivors to tell their stories in English, so not only we end this tyranny of North Korean regime, but also educate humanity so we will never again let these dictators take our dignity and freedom away.
My goal is to raise $5,000 USD, and please send me messages if you have you any questions about TNKR or how to get involved in making this world a better place.
Originally named "English Matching," Teach North Korean Refugees has helped almost 400 North Korean refugees with adjusting to living outside of South Korea. We have done this on a tight budget, relying on our volunteers and fans. Despite our limitations, we have had a number of success stories and are a non-profit that North Korean refugees seek out.
We now have a fan who has offered us the most ambitious matching donation challenge. He says that in 2019, he will raise more money than I have for TNKR. Please accept this challenge along with me! He is in the finance industry, and confident he can twist enough arms to help us become more financially stable.
To be clear: your donations to this fundraising page will be matched. Doubled. If you give $100, it will become $200. If you give $500, it will become $1,000. If you give $5 a month, it will become $10 a month.
These donations are tax-deductible in the USA and South Korea.
